STARLESS

Idle RPG · Lanternlight Studios

Collect stars. Relight the sky.

The sky went dark when the Stars fell. Carry the last lantern, collect the Fallen, and relight it — in an idle RPG that shows you every odd and sells you no power.

Free to play. No spam — a launch note and the milestone news, nothing else.

01The Long Dusk

There was a time the night was not empty. Then the Stars fell, and the dark leaned in. You woke holding a lantern no one lit. It was enough to begin.

02Why Starless

Three things the genre won't give you

An idle collector where the rarest things can't be bought: published odds, no PvP, and a night sky that relights as you complete it.

The Void Witch cradling a small eclipse, purple robes trailing constellations.

Gorgeous

Painted, not stamped out

Painterly gothic-celestial art in a category drowning in identical clones. Every champion, familiar, and cosmetic reads as a piece of the sky it fell from — hand-composed, style-locked, luminous against the dark.

A sun deity holding a small burning sun, cloaked in a star-filled mantle.

Honest

The numbers stay on screen

Every summon rate, every pity counter, every spark floor — published in-game, in every language, and never quietly nerfed. Not a disclaimer buried in a menu. The number is on screen while you pull.

A storm god with constellation-lit skin, holding a glowing star-forged hammer.

Unbuyable

The rarest can't be bought

Money buys speed and looks. Never strength. Every star, skin, and grail is earnable free — and some prestige is earned-only, closed to any wallet. Fully PvE: you compete with the dark, never with players.

03The ad is the game

Everything here is the real build

The loudest complaint in this genre isn't price or grind — it's being lied to by the advert. So we made a rule we can't wriggle out of: no frame we show you is a frame you can't play. No bait mini-games, no cinematic-only heroes, no inflated numbers. What you install is what we showed you.

Starless combat on a phone: a champion and her panther familiar facing a foe in overgrown ruins, health bar and gold-per-second on screen.
Real capture. Your champion fights on, awake or asleep.
A Starless summon result on a phone: a one-star common Pebble Golem, with the odds panel behind it.
A real pull — a one-star common. Not the grail every other advert shows you.

Phone captures from the build, cropped and nothing else — no touch-ups, no staged numbers. More, including the odds sheet and the Constellarium, land with the trailer.

04Pre-register

Light one before the sky does

Pre-registration is free and unlocks rewards for everyone as the count climbs. We'll publish the running total as it goes — real numbers, no invented countdown.

  1. 10,000“Dawnwaiter” title + starlight-gold profile frameCosmetic status only.
  2. 25,000First Light lantern skin — a cosmetic champion glowA look. Zero power.
  3. 50,000Star-Chart profile banner (animated constellation) + a summon-currency starter grantCosmetic + pulls at our published odds.
  4. 100,000“Founding Constellation” cosmetic set + bonus starter energyA set and a head start — still fully catchable free.
  5. 250,000Featured Familiar cosmetic variant — an alt-glow of the launch star-spirit, added to everyone's CodexUnlocks the path to earn it, not the power.

Every reward here is a look, a title, or a head start on pulls at our published odds. None of it is power you can't earn by playing. That's the whole point of Starless.

And for you, personally

Every individual who pre-registers becomes a Founder. Numbers are permanent and never re-issued — real scarcity, in the order you arrived.

Founder #N

A permanent numbered role, issued in order and never given out again.

Founder title & mark

An in-game title and a subtle profile mark that says you were here first.

Launch-day starter pack

Convenience currency — energy and a fair pull bundle at the published rate.

#founders-hall

A direct line to the studio, and priority on closed-beta keys.

What is deliberately not on this ladder — and we say so, because the omission is the point: no exclusive heroes, no permanently-missable power, no strength head-start, no early access to win. Speed and looks only. Every one of these rewards is cosmetic, convenience, or starter currency.

05The Starless Pledge

You can play Starless forever, for free, and reach everything.

We built this for players tired of watching fair games slowly turn greedy. So here's what we will never do — written down, in public, so you can hold us to it.

We will never sell power

Money buys speed and looks — never strength you can't earn by playing. Every hero, upgrade, and Lost Constellation is reachable free.

We will always show the odds

Every summon rate and pity counter published in-game, in every language — and never quietly nerfed.

Nothing that matters is gone forever

The rarest chase is always obtainable. Limited cosmetics come back around. No “buy now or lose it forever” on anything that affects power.

No power-creep treadmill

New champions expand your collection and open new strategies. They never make your favourites worthless so you have to re-buy the meta.

No manufactured panic

No fake countdowns, no guilt-trips, no punishing you for taking a day off. Your streak forgives you.

No cure for a problem we invented

We don't add grind just to charge you to skip it. And you can see and cap your own spending, any time.

And the part nobody else writes down: every time we change the economy, we'll tell you exactly how it honours this pledge — in a public Fairness Changelog. Greed creeps in through small, quiet changes. We're making every one of ours loud and accountable. If a change would break this promise, it doesn't ship.

We'd rather earn a little from a lot of people who trust us, than a lot from a few we've cornered.

06Community

Built in the open

A tiny team building in public — art drops, design notes, and honest numbers as we go. The Discord opens with the first playtest, and fan art has a home from day one.
